I'm excited to announce that my resume course is LIVE!

Yes, I do mean LIVE in the slang way of saying "it is amazing" as well as it is actually live and now available on Udemy.

This has been 3 months in the making and is the first time I've taken on anything like this. I decided to tackle creating a resume course because I understand how vital the document is to the job hunt.  I understand first hand what its like to apply and apply and not ever hear anything back. Not because you're under qualified but because you just didn't understand how to write a resume.

Fact is, the majority of what people know about the job hunt is based on old information and the goal of this course is to provide a very modern, up-to-date guide for how resume writing and the job hunt REALLY works. This is based on information that comes directly from recruiters as well as my own experiences writing my own resumes and helping people with theirs.

Resume Hacking is all about saving time, energy and effort on your job hunt by getting down to the bones of how to write great resumes that will actually make it to human eyes. This information is FRESH, up to date and relevant for how the job hunt works today. Now, this course isn't for everyone. If you're just fine with the methods you're currently using than by all means continue. However, if you want to learn how the job hunt works in the 2014 than by all means check this course out.

As a special offer, I'm giving anyone that signs up for my list this week an to get this course for 75% off! Thats $6 for an investment in your career and financial future. Sign up below and I'll send over a code.

3 best Job Sites for techies

Job sites are a necessary evil today when on the job hunt. As with anything else, some are just hands down better than others, the problem is separating the cream from the rest. Below is a list counting down the best 3 best job boards for landing IT/tech jobs. The list is based purely on my personal experiences and a quick survey of IT recruiters to see which boards they search the most.

3. Indeed.com

Indeed isn't necessarily an IT job site or even a job site, it is more of an aggregate of a lot of opening spread across the internet on different internal and external job boards, or as Wikipedia puts it, an "employment related metasearch engine."  Indeed is a good way to search a lot of different sites and a decent place to post your resume.  The bad news is that many of the postings seem to be old by the time they make it to the site.

2. Monster.com

Monster is not a dedicated IT job site but as the largest job site it has a ton of IT/tech postings. I'd highly recommend posting a resume here for your passive job hunt. A well written resume will almost certainly get pinged every once again.

1. Dice.com

Dice.com, unlike monster, is solely dedicated to tech job postings and is my favorite IT job site. A lot of recruiters looking to fill their IT job openings probably start by searching resumes and posting listings on Dice. I've had the most success by far with Dice as far as receiving call backs and being contacted by recruiters. Dice has original postings as well as acts as an aggregate from other sites. It is also an outstanding source of information in IT career news and trends. This site should definitely be on your list of places to search.

What are some of your favorite IT job sites? Do you know of any that are specific to your field in technology? I would love to hear about them in the comments below.
